Exquisite sterling silver hair or clothes brush made by the silversmith DS Co. of Derby, Connecticut in a beautiful Art Nouveau
cherub pattern featuring an assortment of whimsical musical cherubs. This attractive and useful item is in very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear (see condition description) and bear does have an etched monogram "D". Very good condition on the bristles for the age of this one. Most from this era did not fair so well.

Stamped: 31 DS Co Pat'd Msy 14, 190 - your gonna need a loop - the last number is very faint - I think it is 1901
I've done a little research on this company founded in Derby, CT. Apparently they created lovely pieces in both sterling and sterling plate. I have magnet tested this piece and it does not stick. I use a 25# test magnet. I did not try to polish it as I realize that some buyers prefer the patina.
